The Church of St Mary Magdalene as the priory Church from the 12th - early 15th Century, although restored in the 19th Century it still remains mostly medieval with various parts of the Church dating from the 12th to 15th Century. The River Asker in Celtic times was known as Lodre or Lodres hance the name of the village. Nearby is Uploaders a part of the parish of Loders rather than one in itself. Also nearby is the tiny hamlet of Mangerton where there is a mill open to the public. <<< St Mary Magdalene, Courtesy of Peter Walker
